Maui on a Whim.

A couple weeks before graduation, I told my mom how desperately we both needed a break. She smiled and said, “You know what would be really great right now? Hawaii.” Fast forward to graduation night, and there we were at dinner, booking flights to Maui for the very next morning.

I believe in divine timing, or in this case, divine detours. From the gift of a free place to stay to the unexpected peace that came with traveling without a plan, it was clear God orchestrated every detail. Since my dad couldn’t leave work and my sister had to hold down the fort at Sweet Hope Naturals, it was just me, my mom, and my little brother on this adventure, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

A week of sunshine, sea, hiking, and unhurried time together was the sweetest way to celebrate graduation and breathe again after such a busy season. Sometimes the best trips are the ones you never plan.

This foggy gloomy morning made the perfect back drop for the stunning hike at the Waihe'e Ridge Trail. Bonus: Mars on the trail with his bright teal shorts made for a fun Where's Waldo game.

Honolua Bay Trail aka The Enchanted Forest certainly lived up to its name.

It’s a bucket list item of mine to visit every National Park before I turn 30. This summer, I happily checked off Haleakala from the list!

When we stumbled across this beach, I thought these turtles were big rocks from afar!

All smiles with these two.
